Spicy Braised Hairtail With Daikon

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg 3Fish Hairtail
  • 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Fish Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Korean Red Pepper Paste
  • 1 Tsp Chopped Ginger
  • 1 Tsp Chopped Garlic
  • 1 Large Daikon – peel, sliced into 1-inch rounds
  • 1 large White Onion, peeled and sliced thinly
  • 200 mL Water
  • 2 green onions, sliced thinly

Cooking Method

  1. In a small mixing bowl, combine all ingredients for the sauce and whisk together. Set aside.
  2. Wash and dry Hairtail. Cut into the appropriate size pieces you wish. 
  3. Place Daikon at the bottom of a large pot and cover with water and mixed sauce. 
  4. Place lid on pot and bring to a simmer for 10 minutes. Carefully turn daikon over. 
  5. Cover cooked daikon with sliced onions, return the lid and simmer for 10 minutes. 
  6. Place fish on cooked onions and place the lid on the pot. Simmer for 15 minutes or until the fish is fully cooked. 
  7. Serve on a bed of rice or as is garnished with green onions.
