Crispy Noodlefish

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg 3Fish NoodleFish – Silfver Fish – Defrosted
  • 3 Cups Vegetable Oil
  • 2 Cups Tempura Batter Powder Mix
  • 500 mL Chilled Carbonated Water
  • 1 tsp Togarashi (garnish)
  • Salt to taste

Cooking Method

  1. Carefully heat vegetable oil in tall pot until 350F. Make sure there is lots of room in the pot as the oil will rise up the pot. 
  2. Add tempura powder mix into stainless steel bowl, reserving 2 tbsp for coating. Add chilled carbonated water in slowly, whisking thouroughly  until slightly thick. 
  3. Let batter stand for 10 minutes in refrigerator before using. 
  4. Coat Noodlefish with the reserved 2 tbsp of tempura powder. Add coated noodle fish to the tempura batter. 
  5. In small batches, deep fry noodle fish in hot oil for 3 minutes, or until golden brown. 
  6. Carefully remove from oil and put it into an insert lined with paper towel. 
  7. Continue deep frying until all noodle fish are cooked. 
  8. Season with salt and togarashi powder to taste. 
  9. Serve immediately.
